How to Train Your Dragon Meme by kathy-vicki How to Train Your Dragon Meme by kathy-vicki
Saw How to Train Your Dragon and loved it. Picked up the first meme I could find on dA provided by :iconpanda-ink: and went to town on it.

Hey go see the movie. You'll come out of the theater wanting a dragon sooooo bad. Or a beard like Gerard Butler's. I know I want one...

Vikings are originally from Norway but they settled down in parts of Scotland. But mostly they are Scandinavian.

Random tidbit: The Vikings did the major settling in Scotland. From what I learned in a non-history major history class about early European history, the highlands of Scotland were mostly unsettled until Vikings started making camps and eventually settlements there.

Glad you like it! Another Norwegian commented on this because she was confused by what I meant. In the American dub of this movie, the adult Vikings have Scottish accents, so instead of a Scottish Viking I'm a Norwegian one (I'm American, but of Norwegian ancestry).

How to Train Your Dragon is A book as well?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I was hoping dreamworks had come up with something utterly amazing awesome by itself!

To be fair to Dreamworks, the movie and book are similar in basic premise and characters only. Dreamworks altered a lot of stuff to make the story less comical and more dramatic, and in my opinion they pull off some really ballsy choices that normally don't fly in a family film.

It's kind of strange that the Viking had Scottish accents in the movie when they're Scandinavians. Since I'm blonde and bits of my ancestry are from Northern Europe, I just thought I'd be a 'special' Viking who isn't Scottish like the others.

To be fair, the adult Vikings have Scottish accents and the teens have American accents. Since a theme of the movie is the younger generation being different from the older, it kind of works. Even if it is a little silly.

Repomen is still on the list, and I think I might be able to stomach it now. Not that me and you and Rune shouldn't go see HTTYD. I saw it in 2D and I wouldn't mind seeing it again in teh 3D. What else do we need to see??

Clash of the Titans (perhaps in 2d as it was originally filmed)

Definitely 2D because I've heard the 3D was done quickly and sloppily.

:iconnuckpang: tells me Kick Ass is just that: kick ass. Add that to the list too.

Kick Ass has me curious, I think it could go one of two ways really well... Really good or really bad x.x" We all remember The Last Action Hero? But I'd heard the same thing about Titans... After Avatars HUGE success Warner Bros (i may have the wrong studio) decided, "hey we can do 3d too!" and blew an extra wad o'cash on Titans. Note one of the big differences between adding 3d to a movie... and filming one in 3D.

Ooohh. Cause I thought your main page said you were back east, and I thought for a second you'd immigrated to the states.

My ancestry is German and I'm likely related to a slew of Harnacks, among them a theologian and mathematician, but no idea how or if any of them were royalty.

In general we can both be VERY sure that we're white and American, though. :|
